(No idea why it's called that, so don't ask)

Preheat oven to 350°F

  1. 1/2 cup of shortening/butter/margarine
  2. 2 cups of sugar
  3. 2 eggs
  4. 2 cups of flour
  5. 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  6. 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
  7. 1 teaspoon if baking soda
  8. 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  9. 4 cups of tart apples sliced
  10. (Optional) 1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts

Cream together butter, sugar and eggs. Gradually added dry ingredients and apples. "Pour" batter into greased(or nonstick) 13x9 pan and bake for 40 minutes.

*Pour is in quotes because it's a very thick batter and will not pour*

Topping

  1. 1 cup of brown sugar firmly packed
  2. 1 cup of water
  3. 4 tablespoons of butter
  4. 2 tablespoons of flour
  5. 1 teaspoon of vanilla

Combine all over low heat until thickened.
